On Make a Difference Day this year, the San Rafael business community is joining together to make a significant impact on cleaning up San Rafael by picking up litter, cleaning sidewalks, pulling weeds, cleaning graffiti and otherwise sprucing up their properties and adjacent public lands. San Rafael Clean will market the participating businesses to the media by listing them on our web site and will give each participant a poster for their window with the message "This Business Makes a Difference." Logistical support will also be available, as well as some supplies. To take part in this event in San Rafael on October 24: Businesses may choose to participate any time that day that works for their schedule. Please sign up here or call 485-3407. Thank you for your help! Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October. The next event is Saturday, October 24, 2009. Millions have participated. In 2008, 3 million people cared enough about their communities to volunteer on that day, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns.
