Beautification Days
The City of San Rafael
Parks Division and the Volunteer Program
are offering an easy way to contribute to the great
park areas
and public spaces in San Rafael through our Parks and
Path Service Days.
Join a Parks Supervisor
on a Saturday or Sunday of the month, March -
October
(NOTE: no project in May or July),
to beautify, enhance, and maintain our critical parks,
paths, & public spaces in San Rafael.
Each service day will be from 9am - noon and will
include a little
information on the park, path or area, training,
tools, and enjoyable company.
When you are
finished, you'll take great pride in a sense of
accomplishment,
and will know that
you personally took part in a project to better your
community.
Parks and projects vary
from year to year, but often include Mahon Creek and
Path,
Pickleweed Park, Shoreline Path, and Terra Linda Rec
Center and Park.
Tasks generally
include litter and graffiti abatement, invasive weed
removal,
sheet mulching, and pruning.
Spread the word! This
is a great opportunity to volunteer with a friend or
family unit,
learn about our parks and outdoor spaces, and even get
community service hours.
