Web Assistant, Climate Action Plan

Assist the Community Development department with updating their web site for ease of citizen use. Help break down planning department language into lay terms that anyone can understand and post the information in an organized and user-friendly manner. Basic web software and interface knowledge is important.

Teen Library Volunteers

Assist the Teen Librarian and Webmaster with various tasks in the library related to books and other materials, the teen web interface and various other tasks. Teen Librarian willing to craft positions that match teens interested in Library activities. Summer opportunities available!

Courier/Public Notice Assistant
Help get the word out! Deliver reports and packets to Planning Commissioners and Board members. Install and monitor public hearing notices throughout San Rafael for planned developments. Maintain record keeping of postings and distribution. This position is with our Senior Planner and has opportunities for growth and learning about the planning process. Great for students of public policy, planning, government and land use.

Falkirk Greeter/Concierge
Help Falkirk Cultural Center keep the doors open to the public! Falkirk is a community cultural center and art gallery open to the public Monday-Friday 1pm-5pm. In order to keep the doors open and run the facility efficiently, Falkirk will need friendly volunteers to staff the desk 2-3 hours per day to greet visitors, show them the house, explain the history and rental procedures. Great for people who like to interact with the public as well as history and/or historic house buffs.

Litter Education Outreach Presenter
Help San Rafael Clean with getting the word out about the harms of litter. Our Litter Hurts presentation is on tour in schools and in social clubs, teaching young people about the harms of litter, and what they can do about it on a personal level. Good presenting skills and an ability to work with young people a must. A working knowledge of laptop computers and Microsoft PowerPoint is helpful, but not necessary. Enthusiasm about the earth and ease in front of groups of people makes you the perfect candidate.

Clean Campaign Ambassador

Work with San Rafael Clean Campaign at various cleanup events and with outreach to schools and the community to educate about the hazards of litter and benefits of recycling. Various days, times, skill requirements available
